Dear Friend,
You probably do not know me. Perhaps a friend sent you here. Perhaps you found one of our books. It does not matter how you arrived.
The System
When Gabriel was young, I had one hour a week with him. One FaceTime call. Sixty minutes. On a Friday evening.
I am a former physiotherapist and a sportswoman. Physical activity is my natural language. When Gabriel was removed from my care, the court took all of it. You cannot kick a ball through a phone screen. Every physical tool I possessed was removed simultaneously. All that could travel through a sixty-minute FaceTime call was voice.
So I had to find what voice could do.
The World He Built
He was ten years old. He invented Platy, Coral Cove, a two-headed sea monster he looked directly in the eye. I wrote down every idea he spoke Every single one. I corrected none of them.
What Happened
Those Friday evenings filled a Word document on my desktop. I showed Gabriel one evening he looked at it and instantly said:
